The Downtown Colorado Springs Gift Card — already a favorite for residents and visitors — has gone digital [Kelly Topping](https://mi-cnx.com/news/author/kelly-topping) Nov 18, 2025 --- Backed by the Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs, the new e-gift card makes it easy to shop, dine, stay and play downtown. The digital card joins the long-standing physical version, both of which can be redeemed at more than 150 Downtown businesses, from restaurants and retail shops to salons, attractions and hotels. “The Downtown Colorado Springs Gift Card has always been about encouraging people to keep their dollars local,” said Carrie Simison, Director of Membership, Marketing & Communications. “The new digital option meets people where they are — on their phones — and allows quick delivery and payment via tap-to-pay in digital wallets.” Gift Cards can be sent within minutes through the free Love Local app, offering a convenient option for last-minute gifts and an effortless way to support the city’s urban core. Since its launch in September 2009, more than $1.1 million in Downtown Gift Cards have been sold, including over $113,000 since the move to Miconex in August 2024. This is money that can only be spent at participating downtown businesses — locking spend into the heart of the city. “Sparrow Hawk Cookware has accepted the Downtown Gift Card since the very first day it was issued. Every week we have customers that are thrilled that they have received one, and are excited that they can spend it in our store, as well as any of the other shops Downtown,” said Sam Epply, owner of Sparrowhawk Cookware. “Adding them ‘digitally’ is wonderful news.” The Downtown Colorado Springs Gift Card program is part of a broader initiative from fintech Miconex, in partnership with EML Payments. Colin Munro is the CEO of Miconex and said, “Digital Gift Cards continue to rise in popularity in the USA. We’re also seeing a significant upwards trend in the usage of mobile wallets. The ability to send a friend or family member a digital Downtown Colorado Springs Gift Card that they can add to their mobile wallet and tap to pay is incredibly exciting and marks an important step in the evolution of the card, enhancing convenience and accessibility for a wide variety of users.” The card can be purchased at DowntownCS.com/GiftCard. **About Downtown Partnership** Downtown Partnership is the lead nonprofit organization ensuring that Downtown Colorado Springs serves as the economic, cultural, and civic heart of the city.
