The new Downtown Red Deer Gift Card can be spent with a wide variety of participating businesses downtown including services, retail and hospitality. Cards can be purchased online with delivery direct to the recipient and in person.

Amanda Gould is Executive Director at Red Deer DBA and said the new Gift Card will encourage recipients to experience all that downtown has to offer:

“I often say that downtown Red Deer is like a mall without a roof; it’s a destination where you can do everything, from shopping to eating out to health and beauty. Downtown is vibrant and culturally diverse with many unique independent businesses to explore plus Red Deer’s entertainment district where people can stay awhile and enjoy the events at Ross Street Patio. Our new Gift Card gives people the chance to experience it all through one Gift Card.

“Having our own Gift Card is also a great unifier for downtown. Many of our downtown businesses are independent businesses and may not have the monetary resources to develop their own Gift Card but by participating in the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card they can collaborate with other businesses and showcase all we have to offer. The Gift Card will drive tourism and will also be ideal for organizations to use as gifts for employees – locking spend into Red Deer and giving a tangible boost to our local economy.”

Downtown business Tacoloft accepts the new Downtown Red Deer Gift Card. Owner Mike Ubing said: Located in the heart of downtown Red Deer on the Ross Street Patio, Tacoloft is the place for fresh tacos, brunch and more. We love the simplicity of the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card, and think the program will help increase foot traffic for all businesses downtown. It’s a win win!”

Sunworks Living is also participating in the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card. Owner Paul Harris said: “Sunworks Living is a carefully curated shop with a 25 year history here in Red Deer. We specialize in products that bring you joy, help you improve your life, and create warm fuzzy feelings in your world. We also have coffee and lunch. As a gift shop, we understand that shoppers are looking for unique gift options, and the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card checks all the boxes. We see the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card as a great way to encourage corporate investment downtown by organizations using the cards as gifts for their clients and staff.”

City Roast Coffee is another hospitality business which accepts the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card. Owner George Reed said: “We are a coffee shop and roaster located in the heart of downtown Red Deer for over 30 years. We love collaborating with other businesses downtown and the Downtown Red Deer Gift Card is no exception. The Downtown Red Deer Gift Card is a great way for businesses to support each other and it really gives folks a way to experience all that downtown Red Deer has to offer!”
