Tourism Regina Launches City Promo Card

Tourism Regina has partnered with local businesses and event organizers to launch a Promo Card program that encourages visitors to explore the city.

"Regina is proud to host events that bring in visitors from around the world,” said Jennifer Johnson, City of Regina Deputy City Manager, Communications, Service Regina & Tourism. “We are home to great local businesses. These Promo Cards help us to encourage visitors to spend with those businesses.”

The Promo Card works like a prepaid card that can be used at participating businesses within the city, encouraging visitors to attend local shops, attractions and restaurants. Currently, the Promo Cards are being provided by Tourism Regina. There are opportunities for businesses and other organizations to sponsor cards in the future.

“This partnership with Tourism Regina is a great way to encourage conference guests to extend their stays and experience more of the city,” said Ashley Pelechytik, Director of Sales and Marketing, Hotel Saskatchewan. “With conferences taking place in the coming weeks, the Promo Card program is already encouraging guests to extend their stay beyond the official conference dates and inspiring them to explore Regina’s local dining, attractions and culture, creating clear benefits for both our hotel and the city’s visitor economy."

For every $100 spent at a local small business, approximately $68 is recirculated within Regina’s economy*, supporting jobs, services and community development. This initiative is designed to encourage visitors to explore the community and spend locally.

Tourism Regina is working with event organizers and hospitality groups to distribute Promo Cards during events and to visitors when they arrive in Regina. Cards can be redeemed at more than 60 participating local businesses, including stores, restaurants, attractions and services. The promo cards have a set expiry date which encourages guests to redeem the card during their visit.

Information on how and where to redeem the promo cards is available at TourismRegina.com/Regina-Promo-Card.

The Tourism Regina Promo Card is part of the Downtown Gift Card concept from fintech Miconex in association with payments technology solutions provider EML Payments.

The Tourism Regina Promo Card is issued by Peoples Trust Company. Card funds are not insured by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC) or any other government deposit insurer or agency. The card is non-reloadable and does not provide cash access. For Cardholder Agreement or Customer Service: www.getmybalance.com or 1-833-558-1108.
