How do I onboard a business to the gift card?

Any business which can accept a Mastercard payment can join the gift card.

There are two ways for businesses to sign up:

 

1. You onboard the business in person
Visit the business and explain why they should sign up [ merchant pitch link]
They fill in the jotform (client version) and you use your test card to carry out a test transaction  https://form.jotform.com/Miconex/universal-TCGC-UK-MPL-Client
The form explains exactly what to do so it is a good idea to familiarize yourself with it before visiting the business, if you haven’t already done so.

2. Email the business a form for them to self-serve

It’s usually better to visit the businesses as you can make contact with the right person, and may have a good relationship with them or forge one. However there will be times that it is more convenient for the business to onboard themselves.  In that case you can send them the jotform (merchant version) https://form.jotform.com/Miconex/universal-TCGC-UK-mpl-merc  The contents are very similar, but in this scenario a special test card number is prefilled in the form.  You will receive an email when that business completes the form, test transaction and is linked to the programme.

In both cases it can take 3-5 days to be linked and live and be ready to accept the gift card. 

Both you and the business will be informed by email when that happens as well as if there is any problem, for instance the form is missing some information or a signature, or the test transaction.
