IT Support Specialist

The role

We seek an enthusiastic and talented IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic IT department. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing technical assistance and support to Miconex employees, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our computer systems, software applications, and related equipment.

In addition to these responsibilities, the candidate will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of our products by actively participating in exciting new technology projects. These projects will not only enhance our product offerings but also make a tangible impact on local businesses and economies.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the IT Manager to help implement the technology strategy for the company and provide IT support for the business operations.
  2. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware
  3. Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, printers, and other peripherals.
  4. Assist in maintaining and updating IT documentation, including manuals, guides, and policies
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks like system updates, backups, and antivirus scans
  6. Help with the administration of user accounts within our primary platforms such as Google Workspace, HubSpot, and WordPress, ensuring adherence to company policies regarding permissions and access rights.
  7. Participate in IT projects, including software deployments, system upgrades, and network enhancements
  8. Provide training and guidance to users on IT procedures and best practices
  9. Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in the IT industry
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritise own workload and meet agreed deadline
  11. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  12. Exposure to common desktop publishing applications e.g. Office 365 / Google Business



  1. Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  2. Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS) and productivity tools (G Suite, Hubspot)
  3. Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripherals
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  6. Customer service-oriented mindset with a desire to help others
  7. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
  8. Commutable to Perth head office

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Previous experience in a help desk or technical support role.
  2. Experience with remote desktop support tools and ticketing systems.
  3. Experience with e-commerce platforms like woo commerce
  4. Degree educated (IT/Business with IT)
