Team profile- meet Project Manager Nicola Johnston

Nicola Johnston joined the Miconex team as a Project Manager in April 2021, working on the delivery of regional Scotland Loves Local Gift Cards for every local authority area in Scotland.

Many of you will know Nicola already from her work with Aberdeen Inspired as evening and night time economy manager, and as chair of The Aberdeen City Centre Night Time Commission. As the lead on Aberdeen city centre’s Purple Flag accreditation, managed by ATCM, Aberdeen achieved Purple Flag status, demonstrating the city’s ability to create a safe, well managed environment to have a great night out.

With a Masters in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Nicola spent 7 years in France, Geneva and Switzerland, as well as Glasgow and Edinburgh, working with hospitality businesses as well as running her own business. Nicola has a unique perspective on developing infrastructure, supporting businesses and presenting places effectively in order to drive visits and encourage people back to our towns and cities.
